Imagine a space that makes you look forward to doing laundry! That was the goal with the laundry room re-design. The client also requested a laundry room that performed more like a butler’s pantry. Various concepts and renderings were considered. The result….a bright, cheerful, and well-organized space.
All the finishes were replaced to create a seamless transition to the rest of this recently remodeled home. An interior door was removed to create a more spacious feel and enhanced view from the new kitchen and main living area. With the transformation, there was no need to hide the space. We stacked the W/D to allow for floor-to-ceiling cabinetry which my oh so organized client stocked with OXO containers, bins, and custom labels. We also removed a dated and hinged door to a storage alcove to make a doggie den for two sweet doodles. A shadow wall, with applied moldings, was designed for added visual interest and included forged metal hooks for leashes and jackets as you exit and enter. Mix tones of large penny round tiles highlight the color palette of this great space and bring all the details together. The client says she smiles every time she enters the room and that makes this designer smile too!
